Re: Can someone please help me... |
CORRECTED POST (I musunderstood that you were talking about the extracted wavs, not the compressed shns)
The file type hasn't changed. the icon for the file changed to reflect that windows media player thinks you want to always play those shn files with media player.
see: (file associations) in windows help,,,
to re-associate the wav (or shn or whatever files you need to reassociate) files,
Right click any one wav (or shn or whatever files you need to reassociate) file,
choose 'open with,..."
and select the program you want to associate them with.
(and if theres a check-box like: ' always use this program ', check that box if you don't want to have to re-associate them next time.
Windows media player has them associated with IT, right now... and Media player may have a setting "make sure files are associated with media player if any other programs change it" or something like that... that should be "NO, don't automatically change anything " or the equivalent...
hope this helps

Re: Can someone please help me... |
Yes I think you are correct.
If you do a default install of winamp and the shnamp plugin it will fix things too...
...if you don't mind winamp... I recommend the deadamp plugin too if you download lots of jamband music:
